Overview

What Is Edit PDF?

Edit PDF lets you add new content to your PDF: text, images, rectangles, and lines. You choose the page and enter position and size in PDF points (72 points = 1 inch; a letter-sized page is 612×792 points). Use "Cover & type" to white out an area and type new text over it — great for fixing a word or line without a full document editor.

The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded. No Adobe Acrobat or other software required.

What You Can Do

Add text

Draw shapes

Draw rectangles (fill and border color) and lines. Useful for highlighting or simple diagrams.

Cover & type

White out an area and add new text on top — ideal for correcting or replacing existing text without full OCR editing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit existing text in the PDF?
PDFs store text as positioned glyphs, not editable paragraphs. This tool lets you add new text and use "Cover & type" to white out an area and place new text on top, which is a practical way to "replace" text visually. For full word-by-word editing, you’d need to convert to Word, edit, then convert back.
What are PDF coordinates (points)?
The PDF coordinate system has its origin (0,0) at the bottom-left of the page. Units are in points (72 points = 1 inch). A US letter page is 612 points wide and 792 points tall. So Y = 700 is near the top of the page.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Editing runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
What image formats can I add?
PNG and JPEG (JPG) are supported. Upload an image, set position and size, then add it to the page.
